RCD Espanyol at FCF's 125th anniversary event
The club take part in the celebration

2025 marks a historic milestone for Catalan football, with the celebration of the 125th anniversary of the Catalan Football Federation (FCF). The opening ceremony, held at the IDEAL-Centre d'Arts Digitals in Barcelona, was a celebration, with the unveiling of new features such as the new Catalonia shirt, the redesign of the FCF logo, and the presentation of an immersive exhibition on the history of Catalan football.
Among the historic clubs that have been part of this journey were, of course, RCD Espanyol de Barcelona. The club, founded in 1900, has been one of the key entities in these 125 years.
They were represented by CEO, Mao Ye; president of the RCD Espanyol Private Foundation, Antoni Fernández-Teixidó; and Communications Director Xavi Andreu. Their presence reinforced Espanyol's importance in shaping football in Catalonia from its beginnings to the present day.
The exhibition "PIONEERS. 125 years of Catalan football," which will open on May 23rd, will offer an immersive experience in a 1,000 m² space, with virtual reality and interactive rooms. This exhibition will commemorate key figures in the history of Catalan football, recognising their legacy and influence in consolidating football in the region.
