The goalkeeper will continue playing for Espanyol the next three seasons
Diego López and RCD Espanyol have reached an agreement for which the Galician goalkeeper will definitely join the squad of the first team. The goalkeeper has signed his commitment with RCD Espanyol until June 30th 2020 and will have a clause of 50 million euros.
The player has been one of the pillars of the team this campaign. In fact, the Galician has received 38 goals against in 35 games this season. The international goalkeeper, who has always expressed his will to continue playing for Espanyol, has been able to achieve one of his dreams that was to continue defending the white and blue jersey.
"It's a very happy day. We have had a season to sign, but it has been wonderful. Today is the day in which I can extend my relationship with Espanyol. I want to thank the club, the coach, the staff, teammates and fans especially this year that has been magnificent. My wish was to continue here. The priority was to continue because I found myself very comfortable", said Diego López to Espanyol TV.
