Calero: "We are confident about getting the win"

The defender speaks ahead of the game against Athletic Club

Espanyol are back in action after the international break this week, and are training ahead of their game against Athletic Club.

"We left off with a positive feeling after the last game at home, and we want to show why we are here," said Fernando Calero on Tuesday afternoon.

"In all the games we have played, we have competed very well. They have been decided by details and we want those details to fall in our favour. When that happens, I'm sure we'll get to the the top half of the table," added the centre back.

Calero also highlighted the team's progress under Manolo González.

"We are finding a plan that we are comfortable with. The coach has conveyed this to us. We are very good at running forward on the counterattack," he explained.

Regarding Athletic Club, Calero made it clear that the objective is to take all three points.

"Athletic are a very good team, with very physical players. But we are only thinking about victory," he concluded.
