Romero: "We have to face Real Madrid with a lot of desire"

The fullback talks before Saturday's LaLiga game

The hard-fought point obtained last weekend in Seville has inspired confidence amongst the RCD Espanyol squad, and Carlos Romero believes that the team are taking strides forward.

"We knew that we were going to a very tough ground, and that we were going to suffer," said the full-back, "but the team got a point. We did an incredible job defensively. We always want to win; in the end we got a point and now we're going for the next game."

The player added that "we are convinced that we are going to achieve our objective. We are working hard every day and we are not looking beyond the most immediate game this weekend. We have a tough fixture list coming up. Now Real Madrid are visiting, and our fans are looking forward to these big games."

He insists that the Saturday contest has to be faced "with a lot of desire. You have to go out there with everything you have, to compete and fight for every ball. We have to take advantage of our chances and make our fans our 12th man, because with them we are much stronger.”
