Cabrera – Second winter signing
The left-sided centre back signs until the 30th June 2024
RCD Espanyol de Barcelona has activated the €9 million release clause for Leandro Cabrera (17/06/1991, Montevideo, Uruguay) and consequently the left-sided centre back will sign for the club until the 30th June 2024.
Cabrera, 28 years old, joins from Getafe CF, where he has become known as one of the most solid defenders in LaLiga. This season, he has made 21 appearances and scored three goals. Moreover, the Uruguayan defender has also played for clubs such as Crotone in Italy, Zaragoza, Real Madrid Castilla, Hércules, Numancia, Recreativo de Huelva and Atlético de Madrid, the club where he made his First Division debut under Quique Sánchez Flores.
After completing a medical at the Corachan Clinic, Cabrera will train this Monday under the supervision of Abelardo in the scheduled morning training session and the Dani Jarque Training Centre. At 16:00h he will be presented in the Juan Segura Palomares Auditorium at the RCDE Stadium, with access for media outlets accredited by the club.
