Blanco: "We face VCF Mestalla with excitement"
RCD Espanyol B play away to VCF Mestalla this Saturday
RCD Espanyol B play this Saturday against VCF Mestalla, away at the Ciudad Deportiva de Paterna in a 6pm kickoff. Luis Blanco's men face this game with momentum in their favour after a win last time out, and look to close the gap to the Valencia CF B team in the standings.
“We want to keep on picking up points and feeling good. The victory against CD Ebro strengthens us a lot, although we had been doing things well before that. This Saturday we face difficult opponents, but we come into the game after a beautiful week, with a very positive energy and excitement about the game," said Blanco ahead of the fixture.
"VCF Mestalla have players with a lot of talent and pace. We occupy a very similar position in the table and they are just above us, so we have the opportunity to get closer to them. It is a good chance to compete on a big stage and there are many ingredients to make this a good match. I'm sure it will be close and we are very excited," the coach continued.
"We are seeing that it is very hard to win games. It's the details that define the match. Despite the draws we have had, and although in terms of results we were not getting the points we wanted, we did have a good feeling about things. In the end, we have made the draws count for something and have got to the top positions. The objective is to go into the final stretch of the season as well as possible, qualify for the playoffs and go for it in each game.”
