Blanco: "Facing CD Teruel will be a game of the highest level of demand"
RCD Espanyol B meet the league leaders this weekend
RCD Espanyol B face a very demanding game this Sunday, as they take on league leaders CD Teruel away at the Estadio de Pinilla. Their opponents have lost only one game this season -the reverse fixture at the Ciudad Deportiva Dani Jarque-, have conceded the fewest goals in the division and are on a run of five consecutive clean sheets.
"Little can be said about Teruel that hasn't been said already," commented Luis Blanco, coach of the side.
“They are an almost unbeatable team, haven't lost at their home ground and haven't conceded in five games. Those are frightening numbers. However, for us it is a challenge and I am clear about the fact that we can go there and win, because we have the talent and ability to do so -even though we know it will be a game of the highest level of demand."
"We will improve our effectiveness," Blanco continued. "Against At. Saguntino we had a great game, we created chances, we were intense and we were dynamic. It was something we had been looking for, but we were only able to pick up one point”.
"I'm very happy with the feeling we have and what the team have conveyed.I'm very happy with the attitude and the work. Even when we have not scored points, the team have not fallen apart."
“The emotional state of such young players is not the same as that of a player with more experience. Lessons are positive both individually and collectively. Sometimes you have to lower the competitive tension a bit and that is harder for them than for veterans. They are learning and improving, but we are ambitious, we want to win, be at the top and move up in the table."
