An exciting challenge
Quique Sánchez Flores says that Atlético de Madrid has recovered their style and that he expects a different match
Espanyol has a very exciting challenge this Saturday. The white and blue team plays against Atlético de Madrid, that has recovered their best version after a doubtful beginning. Quique Sánchez Flores said in his press conference that he expects a different match compared to the one played in Madrid.
“It's going to be different because we were in a different phase looking for our own identity. When we visited the Calderón we were a difficult rocky team in defence. Atletico, however, was looking for a different style but now has regained their strongest defensive, they are more secure... We trust more in our own football. They are two similar styles, two teams that trust what they do”, he said.
“It is a very indestructible, powerful team and that is why it is important in Spain and in Europe. It is a team with many records. The important thing is that we impose our way of playing and that we spend most of the time in the areas where we want to be”, he said.
"The team expresses itself through its technician. When a squad becomes his extension, it is a success. Simeone has succeeded in impregnating his style of playing, his way of life to his groups of players. It is the team that has competed the best in the last five years".
“Our connection with the fans is growing and has a very positive effect. It would be nice to have them with us tomorrow”, said Quique, who explained that Baptistao will do a last test on Saturday morning.
