Aleix V.C: “Our connection with the fans is very important”

The winger highlights the importance of the fans ahead of the visit of Real Sociedad

Aleix Vidal spoke of the importance of the fans for the team, ahead of Monday’s match against Real Sociedad.

RCD Espanyol are at home for the second LaLiga matchday in a row on Monday night, hosting La Real in front of the blanquiazul faithful at the RCDE Stadium. Speaking on Friday ahead of the weekend clash, the winger described the week of work and what lies ahead at the Temple.

Aleix said, “It has been a different week because it has been longer than usual, but it has its positives because we have had more time to correct our mistakes. On a personal level I always try to do my best. Competition is the most important thing; it makes you get the most out of yourself and it is very good for the team”.

Opponents Real Sociedad come to the RCDE Stadium sitting third, though without a win in their previous three outings in both LaLiga and the Copa del Rey.

He explained, “Their numbers this season show that they are doing things well. There are quite a few players who have been playing there for years, they know each other well and it shows on the pitch”.

Aleix concluded, “We are showing ourselves to be strong at home and we will cause them problems when they come here. Despite the results, the fans are helping and encouraging us, our connection with the fans is very important.”
