A game for growth
David López argues that this Thursday’s game against CSKA in the UEFA Europa League should be seen as a good opportunity “to improving and keep growing. Whoever plays has to make the most of the opportunity to create competition for places, and to make sure we’re all 100% match fit”.
He is clear that, given the side has already secured qualification as group winners, “we have earned the right to not place as much importance on this game as on Sunday’s. We know that in the league we are in a difficult position, but we’re all very keen to turn it around”.
Similarly, he believes that the words of Chen Yansheng, the President, in recent days “help us. He is very involved with the team. He is aware of everything that goes on, from an injury to a player’s state of mind. He has given us all the confidence in the world that we’ll stay up and he said that he will do everything in his power to help us do just that”.
