For Mario Hermoso, who has experienced a season of ups and downs in terms of participation in the first team, this year is proving "a fantastic experience." Debut in First: "It's my first year in the category and it's a fantastic experience. I have managed to learn many things, above all, adapt to what the category requires. Now I just hope to continue learning, improving, and that next year is better than this".
Leave the start-up line: "That is something normal, that happens every day in football. They are moments and each game is different altogether. The coach decides what is best for the team and the players are there for when our time comes to do the best we can. I see it as a normal situation".
Improve day by day: "I try, as a footballer, to be a good defender, solid and add more things to the team. The more you can contribute, the better".
The support of the supporters: "The fans of Espanyol have always been there supporting me. We have not had a great season but we still have their support. Now we have to try, in what remains, to make the maximum possible points and stay as high as possible”.
Continuity: "For me it was a reward and satisfaction to play so many games in a row in my first year in the category. When you sign with a first division team you do not expect to have that luck and play so many games. For me it has been a fantastic year at the level of learning and above all of knowledge”.
Substitute: "The normal thing is not to play. You are lucky if you play. It is not something good or bad. We all work to be in the eleven, but there are 12 or 14 players who can not do it. I was fortunate to play 19 or 20 games and nobody asked me about it. When I have not played it also seems normal to me. The one in the field is because the coach believes it is the most convenient for the team".
Learning: "I've noticed it in the dressing room. It is not the same to be with people of your age than with others who have years of profession. I've had tips from players and it shows that everything here is more professional".
Participation of the second team: "We have a fairly large workforce and they have done a sensational job. They have won the league and now they are focused on the promotion playoff, but it is true that many of these players participate in the first team's daily workouts".
Finish with a good mark: "We want to achieve the maximum possible points and be the highest. We work every day to do it. Every day we train to get it. That's what we want".
Getafe: "They have complicated us in the away matches, but we have come from playing a good role in Valencia. We are missing a bit of success with the goal, but we are at that point that if we fit little or little we will have more chances to win".
