A Messi’s goal in a clear offside knocks Espanyol

Espanyol began the derby in a serious way, together, waiting for the counterattack. The main tools were the speed of Leo Baptistao and the arrivals of Pablo Piatti and Gerard Moreno. Sergi Darder and Mario Hermoso made his debut in the starting line-up. In spite of, the chance to win disappeared in the middle of the first half. Messi received the ball in a clear offside and beat Pau. Espanyol tried to generate some dangerous opportunities but Piatti, two times, and Baptistao couldn’t score. Before the half-time, Messi got the second.

At the beginning of the second half, Piatti almost scored with a lob. But, Messi, again, signed the third. The parakeets continued trying to reduce distances although without luck. When the match was ending, Piqué and Suárez closed the scoreboard.
