3-4: Femení win goal-filled game in Bilbao
RCD Espanyol Femení beat Athletic Club B on the road
RCD Espanyol Femení played out a thrilling game in Bilbao against Athletic Club B, winning 4-3 on Sunday.
Marc Cabestany's team came out with a high intensity from the off, and were rewarded after a quarter of an hour of play thanks to a goal from Daniela Caracas from inside the box.
Shortly after, Judith Pablo scored her second goal of the season, and Chini made it 3-0 after half an hour of action.
Athletic closed the gap thanks to a penalty conceded by Júlia Guerra after the ball hit her on the hand inside the box. At the end of the first half, Adriana Martín put the finishing touch to a great first half for Espanyol with a free kick shortly before the interval.
The momentum changed in the second half, as Athletic took control of the match. Andrea Crespo prevented a second goal from the opposition with two solid interventions, but was finally beaten thanks to a goal from Estefa.
As the game became more and more disorganised, Eider scored the third goal for the home team, and Espanyol had to fight until the end to hold on for the win. Next up is a match against Deportivo Abanca Femenino at home on Sunday.
