3-1: Important win in play-off hunt
RCD Espanyol B beat CD Ebro at the Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque
RCD Espanyol B beat CD Ebro 3-1 at home on Saturday, after a very complete performance in the second half when both teams were reduced to ten men.
The first half had hardly any chances for the young pericos, although Luis Blanco's side were not put in excessive difficulties either. Shortly before the break, Javier Lancho received a blow from the elbow of Ebro's David Sánchez in the area and responded with a push, resulting in the referee sending off both Lancho and Sánchez.
In the second half, a much more incisive Espanyol generated very clear scoring chances and ended up taking the lead through Nabil Touaizi after a corner. The second goal came just two minutes later; Roger Martínez struck his shot past the CD Ebro goalkeeper to double the hosts' lead and put them in charge.
The game was under control and the third goal seemed to be a matter of time, but CD Ebro pulled one back off a deflected shot to set up for a tense finish.
Espanyol kept pushing for the third and found it through a great combination between Juan Camilo Becerra, Tan Kaiyuan and Kenneth Soler to make it 3-1 and wrap up the victory.
