RCD Espanyol Femení lose 3-0 on the road

RCD Espanyol Femení's solid run of form came to an end with a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Real Oviedo Femenino on Sunday.

Little happened in the first half, as both teams had a hard time generating scoring chances. Espanyol dominated in possession but only came close to a goal through set pieces. That left Oviedo to take advantage of a defensive mistake to make it 1-0.

The second half opened with a second goal, as Riquelme completed her brace.Carol Marín tried a chip and Chini a powerful shot from square on, but Espanyol's persistence failed to bring a reward: The home side took the score to 3-0 with a quarter of an hour to go.

After going four matches in a row without defeat, RCD Espanyol Femení were unable to extend the streak on their visit to Oviedo. Next up they will try to pick up three points at home against Osasuna on Sunday, 12th February.
