2-1: Stoppage time loss for RCD Espanyol B
B team beaten by a late goal from AE Prat
A late goal in stoppage time handed RCD Espanyol B a defeat in a very close match against AE Prat, as they fell 2-1 on the road on Sunday.
Espanyol arrived at Sagnier on a roll, but aware that they faced what was always a complicated away trip. It was difficult for them to get into the game, as AE Prat defended very well without the ball and, with it, looked to do damage through fast movement.
The first chance for the hosts came on 14 minutes, which Ángel Fortuño saved, but two minutes later he could do nothing to prevent Elhadji from making it 1-0, taking advantage of a rebound off the goalkeeper.
The game was very tight, with plenty of fouls, a spate of yellow cards and enthusiastic fans. After the break, Espanyol B took a step forward and felt more comfortable. Their dominance paid off: On 58 minutes, whilst Craviotto saved an effort from Becerra, the rebound fell to Joan Puig, who turned the ball in.
Espanyol B were the side in ascendance, but the home team used their counterattacks to look to do damage. The clearest chance for the visitors was a shot from the edge of the box by Kenneth that went very close to the top corner.
In added time, El Prat pressed high up, as RCD Espanyol B were reduced to ten men due to an injury to Alejandro Pérez with no substitutions available. The hosts took advantage of this situation and, in the 93rd minute, scored the winner in a 2-1 victory.
