2-0: Defeat in Lleida
Two late goals see RCD Espanyol Femení leave empty handed against SE AEM Femenino
RCD Espanyol Femení suffered a tough defeat away to SE AEM Femenino on Sunday, losing 2-0 due to two late goals.
The game was affected by strong winds that meant that neither of the two teams felt comfortable on the pitch. The pericos started strong and with a fast pace, and although the possession evened out befre the end of the opening stanza, the best chances of the first half fell to Luzu and then from Adriana Martín's free kick.
The second half began in the same vein as the first, and Espanyol narrowly missed out on taking the lead with a clear opportunity for Adriana, latching onto a through-ball by substitute Mellado.
In the final minutes, when the match seemed destined to end in a stalemate, a brace from Yiyi in the 87th and 90th minute took the score to 2-0 and saw RCD Espanyol Femení beaten late on.
