1-3: Winning ways continue
RCD Espanyol B pick up important win away to to Valencia CF Mestalla
RCD Espanyol B bested VCF Mestalla 3-1 away from home on Saturday, to consolidate their spot in the play-off positions.
The team started very well, taking the lead early with a great goal from Carlos Mangada after 10 minutes. Luis Blanco's team stifled Mestalla's attacks and sought to extend their advantage, doubling their advantage after half an hour when Joan Puig finished off a corner kick.
VCF Mestalla narrowed the gap to a single goal shortly before the break, and in the second half, chased the equaliser and a way back into it. It seemed that Espanyol were going to suffer, but in the 58th minute Roger Martínez made it 3-1 with his strike to give the young pericos a comfortable lead once again.
In the final stretch, Espanyol played with comfort against frantic opponents, and took their second consecutive victory in the Segunda RFEF. They are now five matches unbeaten and remain in a strong position to make the play-offs.
