1-2: Pride and sweat
Espanyol breaks their bad spell of results in Riazor and defeats Depor in an intense match
Espanyol finished this afternoon with the bad luck that chased them in Riazor for eight seasons thanks to the goals of Baptistao and Gerard Moreno. Since season 2009-2010, the white and blue team did not add a victory in a field that, historically, has been choked for Espanyol. The blue-and-white concentration and success, especially in the first half, were enough to add a victory that consolidates the position 'perica' in the table.
Espanyol has committed up to offer a competitive image in this final stretch of the League. They did not want to slow down in their aspirations to remain installed in the first half of the standings. For weeks they fought to reach seventh place but mathematics left them out last week. Now, in the remaining games, they had to pull professionalism, pride and commitment to continue adding points. Do not give away anything. Do not give in. Do not relax themselves. That was the motto and with that intention came the team at Riazor with a great victory thanks to the two goals from Gerard and Baptistao.
