1-1: Point on the road for RCD Espanyol B
10-man RCD Espanyol B come away with point against UE Olot
RCD Espanyol B took a point away in a 1-1 draw with UE Olot on Sunday.
Luis Blanco's boys were slow starters in the contest, and after eight minutes Xumetra opened the scoring for hosts Olot, taking advantage of a long ball upfield from their goalkeeper to beat Lisardo.
Behind on the scoresheet, Espanyol settled into the match and attempted a strategy based on quick touches. The clearest chance for them in the first half came off a header from Juan Camilo Becerra just before the break, threatening the opposing goal but leaving them behind at the break.
In the second half, persistence paid off for the team, as they found an equaliser from a classic cross from Nabil Touaizi, met by Becerra to level it up.
However, for the third consecutive match, Espanyol were left a man down when Carlos Mangada was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 77th minute.
Despite the setback, they had an opportunity late on to take victory, but were unable to finish and came away with a point away from home. Next week, RCD Espanyol B return home to host Real Zaragoza B next Sunday, 29th January at the Ciutat Deportiva Dani Jarque.
