Espanyol adds a new draw at home thanks to a goal by Leo Baptistao

Espanyol and Real Sociedad sahred the points in a game that had two very different parts. In the first, the white and blue were much better. They advanced on the scoreboard and nullified an opponent who barely showed signs of their quality. In the second, however, the donostiarras totally dominated the match and demanded continually to Pau that nothing could do to avoid the goal of the draw of Illarra.

Quique’s boy had a great start. Jurado cross a ball into the box and Baptistao appeared to knock the ball into the net. The white and blue players showed from the beginning that they had the ideas very clear and didn’t leave Real Sociedad play comfortable. With a great pressure, the visitors had a good chance to get the second goal but Baptistao missed by a little.

After the break, the match changed. The locals give a step forward and Espanyol started to suffer in defence. Pau, again, dis two great saves but couldn’t avoid the equalizer from Illarra who took advantage of a great action of Januzaj.

Real, better in the second half, achieved their goal, while Espanyol tried to shake off the local dominance. The changes of Quique worked and the team won in consistency in front an opponent that was losing clarity in the final meters by the good defensive approach of the pericos. The fine effort of the espanyolistas allowed them to add a point against a good opponent.
