A pair of first half goals earn victory against RCD Mallorca B
Espanyol B beat Mallorca B away from home on SUnday thanks to goals from Roger Martínez and Luca Koleosho.
The home side, who came into the game undefeated at home, put early pressure on Espanyol B, but the visitors held up well and soon took control.
A shot on 20 minutes was met by Iker Venteo in a rare Mallorca B opportunity, but the opening goal arrived soon after: Off a corner, Roger Martínez latched onto the rebound on the edge of the area to make it 0-1.
Espanyol B continued to create chances. In the 36th minute, Juan Camillo Becerra put the opposition goalkeeper to the test with a shot and, just before the break, Koleosho fired in a great goal off a counterattack to double the advantage.
In the second half, Espanyol B played with confidence and calm thanks to the positive scoreline. Mallorca had a hard time finishing their moves, and provided several counterattacks for Espanyol. Nabil hit the post and Abde Damar twice had the chance to kill the game off definitively, whilst Iker Venteo needed to make two saves in the final quarter-hour, but the contest ended in a well-deserved RCD Espanyol B victory.
The team remain in the playoff spots, one point behind leaders Teruel.
