Formentera looked to open the scoring with a well-placed counterattack, that was well-defended, and on the brink of half-time Abde headed onto the far post after a good combination by Espanyol B.
In the second half, Espanyol B took control. Formentera decided to focus on defence, going forward only with set pieces and counterattacks such as that Ekiza had saved by Fortuño prevented with a great stop.
Whilst Lancho was a few centimetres away from opening the scoring with a good header off a corner, the best opportunity arrived on 74 minutes, when Becerra struck against the crossbar.
After the goalless draw, RCD Espanyol B remain firmly in the fight for promotion.
