RCD Espanyol Femení play out a goalless draw on the road against Albacete Femenino

RCD Espanyol Femení were held to a 0-0 draw by Albacete in their away match on Sunday, despite being superior to their opponents in the first half. In the second, the match was more even, but there was no change in the scoreline before the end.

In the first half, Carol Miranda's team controlled possession, and that translated into scoring chances. The clearest was for Cristina Baudet in the 23rd minute. Albacete had an opportunity of their own shortly before the break, but couldn't convert.

In the second half the game was more evenly matched. The home side took a step forward and it was more difficult for Espanyol to play in the opposing half. Nevertheless, chances were not lacking in the opening and closing minutes.

Both teams generated chances in rapidfire fashion, with Baudet again the closest for Espanyol, but she also prevented a goal from Albacete ten minutes from time.

Mar Segarra was very safe between the sticks and made several courageous saves, as the game ended goalless. Next week, Espanyol host DUX Logroño at the Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque.
