0-0 draw for RCD Espanyol Femenino against CD Juan Grande
Andrea Crespo keeps a clean sheet on her debut appearance
RCD Espanyol Femenino were held to a goalless draw by CD Juan Grande in their latest league contest, despite enjoying the best chances of the game.
A positive first half saw the team attack early from both wings. Natalia and Luzu's speed was the most dangerous threat provided in the opening stages of the match, with Nora the target in the area for a series of crosses.
The away side pressed well with four players high up the pitch, but Los Pericos were able to prevent any chances of note until the half-hour: Debutant Andrea Crespo flew across to make a save that kept the score level at the interval.
At the beginning of the second half, CD Juan Grande fired a warning shot with a strike against the crossbar. However, was Espanyol who seemed more committed to pushing for the victory, whilst their opponents waited to hit on the counterattack. The clearest chance of the second stanza came from Baudet, in the 68th minute, with a a direct free kick that crashed onto the woodwork.
Although the feeling was that the winning goal could come at any moment, in the end the spoils were shared.
