“Will continue fighting”
Melendo regrets not having been able to terminate some games but is clear that "we will continue fighting every week and enjoying the moment"
Óscar Melendo was one of the most outstanding players last Sunday at the Sánchez Pizjuán. The young Catalan footballer said that it was "a bittersweet feeling because we deserved more. We did not finalise the game the way we desired. We had opportunities but we did not know how to materialize them. They pushed hard in the end and scored 2-1".
He assumes that, somehow, they have not known how to terminate the away games "in a very competitive league and where all the teams are losing points outside. We went ahead on the scoreboard, we drew and we still had chances to extend the advantage as it has happened in other grounds. We have failed to materialize the opportunities".
He said that the goal "is to work every week, game by game, enjoy the moment, make our football and see at the end of the season if we see up. Hopefully we can dream of something beautiful".
He finally reminded that he does not want to argue with the use of VAR, but he does acknowledge that "personally, I think it's a penalty for Sergio García because Mercado tramples him from behind. What I do not understand is that you do not review a play like that, but on the VAR issue I am clear that sometimes you can be penalized and, in others, benefited".
