“We will be fine”
Dídac says “I believe in my teammates: They’ve all got the desire and the ability to sort it out”
Dídac Vila is in no doubt that for Espanyol a difficult road lies ahead, but he is optimistic, indeed sure that the squad will achieve its objective. The defender is delighted with “the team’s attitude” and says, “we have to keep competing as we have been recently and keep picking up points. People should know that we’re going to reach our goal”.
He argues that the way forward is to concentrate solely “on the next game. There’s never a bad time to win. We’re looking to take all three points in every game we play and Granada is another opportunity to do that”.
He insists that his optimism is based on his “trust in my teammates and in the club. I know that they’ve all got the desire and the ability to sort this out” and says “the objective has to be to get eight or nine wins to get to 40 points”.
He also adds that the arrival of new signings during the winter transfer market, as well as the role the fans are playing, could ultimately be decisive. “As long as people arrive with a positive mentality it helps the team and improves the group dynamic. It is important that we are all united and when we are it shows. When we are suffering, the fans encourage and support the group. It goes hand in hand. There will always be something there to support us.
