“We want to win as many points as we possibly can"
Víctor Sánchez said that Barça is loosing more matches than other seasons but he doesn’t think that they vulnerable
After the draw against Sporting de Gijón, Espanyol is getting ready for the next match against FC Barcelona. Víctor Sánchez, one of the captains of the team, said that it is an “attractive” match and hopes that the white and blue squad can get a good result, despite Barcelona’s potential.
“For us it is a challenge to play against a great rival. We want to keep our options to fight for the seventh position and we hope to add as many points as possible to reduce the distance with the teams ahead of us”, he said.
“We arrive to the match as always. FC Barcelona are an excellent team but we have been able to cause problems to At. Madrid, R. Madrid and Barcelona. We have our options to achieve the victory and we will do our best. Our supporters were happy with our performance against Atlético de Madrid despite the final result and they think we can do a good match against FC Barcelona. People are excited and we will try to add as many points as possible in these four games. Let’s hope it is the year we can win at Cornellà and we can make our supporters happy. This kind of matches are good against tough rivals and if you win them it is a tremendous joy”, he said.
“We are focus on our goal that is do one of the best seasons in past years and fight for the seventh position. It is a bit far but we can reach it. We are a difficult team and we are going to put all our effort”.
“Barcelona has lost more matches than previous seasons and things are not turning out as in the preceding years. However, I don’t think they are vulnerable because they are a great team. However, it is the year they have made more mistakes”.
