“We want to recover the things we did well”
QSF said that he is not doing many changes to play against Villarreal
Espanyol plays this Thursday against Villarreal hopping to win the second consecutive match. The manager Quique Sánchez Flores said that the team has to recover those things that worked properly last year. “We are looking for the things that worked last season. The players know what they are able to do it, in which point we left it last season and the idea is to recover the good things”, he said.
“How we pressured Celta, how we are able to change our plan when we are defending, how we manage the transitions and what to do when we lose the ball. This kind of things are part of our DNA: we know how we play, which our skills are and what we do well. How we play better is when we are fast”, he said.
About the next match he has the ideas very clear. “Let’s see how the players arrive to the match. There are many players that yet have to reach their best version and meanwhile we will think what is more convenient. We don’t have many players to rotate. A player to be in the field has to be fit and now we have a lot of players that are far from their best level. Feelings are key in nowadays football and I don’t think that we will do many changes in the line-up”, he said.
“We have different aims. They are a team that have played Champions many seasons. We want to improve every year”, he said.
