“We want to do our best for our fans”
Espanyol plays this Saturday their last match at home this season
Espanyol will play this Saturday their last match of the season against Valencia and the manager Quique Sánchez Flores hopes to have the best farewell possible. “We want to make the best possible farewell, thank our fans for their support, for how we felt during the season, how they protected us and understood the beginning of the project. We want to do our best”, he said.
Sánchez Flores stills remember the match of the first round in which Espanyol lost 2-1 against Valencia. “We want to show that we are not the absent team from that match. We have the opportunity to show ourselves. It is a good time and we have a good reason to be competitive and show the cheerful and competitive face that was not seen in the first round”, he said.
“The game motivates us as much as possible and if that leads us to win a position, it will be fantastic, we want more. We have competed well and it is fantastic to be able to compete beyond the targets. It is a challenge to stay as high as possible”, he said.
Finally, the manager considers that the players have enjoyed themselves. “No doubt the players have enjoyed and have had reasons, they have connected with the fans. The start was not easy but it has not been difficult either, they have cooperated in all the matches, they are group of friends”, he said.
