“We want to achieve the objective”
Vicente Moreno emphasises the importance of winning to be closer to promotion
At the end of the match versus Málaga CF, the RCD Espanyol manager, Vicente Moreno, pointed out that the objective “hasn’t been achieved yet”, but explained that the victory has left the white and blue team very close to promotion. “The virtue is in making difficult seem easy. Our objective still has to be achieved. It was very important to win, so we can rely on the next match now. We were strongly matched, Málaga played very well and this made it really difficult for us. We didn’t play our best match either, but we were able to win 3-0. The team has to be congratulated, as do the fans, who have helped us achieve the victory,” summarised the white and blue manager, Vicente Moreno.
Moreno pointed out that “what we want is to achieve promotion by need, obligation and demand, and we’re close to it. We’ll try to win the match again because what we want to do is meet the objective: we’ll want to win the match.” The white and blue manager was grateful for “the spectacular support” of the fans before the match and made it clear that the team must keep working: “There are no concessions.”
