“We needed the three points”
Hermoso said that the team is now in a comfortable situation
After missing the last match, Mario Hermoso was again in the line up to play Getafe. The defender was one of the best players on the field and helped the team to achieve the three points.
"The main thing was to get the three points. We returned to leave our goal to zero and it is an objective that we have marked. From there we grow and always have chances. We arrived at the area and the important thing was to win. We needed the three points to fight for the league that we want", he said
"We try to do what we think has to be done in each game. There have been games in which we have taken control of the game, we have arrived many times and we have gone home completely disappointed, we won the three points and we are in a comfortable and advantageous situation", he said.
"The sensations are reinforced when you win. When you get three points, it gives you calm and gives confidence for the following matches. We had bad luck against Valencia, but yesterday we needed one way or another to get the three points. While we keep adding three in three I sign bad play and win", he said.
“We want to be in the best position and keep in the goal of last season when the team did a great job. There are few teams that have great players and that are on top of us, but we are going to follow them and try to do as best as possible”, he said.
About the next match against Tenerife, Hermoso said that the team will face it with plenty of confidence. “They don’t have anything to loose. Everybody expects Espanyol to win because we play in the first division, but things are not precisely easy in football”, he said.
