“We must approach it with humility”
Luis Miguel Ramis reiterates the importance of consistency ahead of his first game against SD Huesca
Unveiled as men’s first team coach in his presentation on Monday, Luis Miguel Ramis spoke at his first press conference looking ahead to Sunday’s match against SD Huesca.
RCD Espanyol travel to El Alcoraz in Ramis’ first test as head coach, looking to break back into the automatic promotion spots as soon as possible.
Ramis said, “I have been met with a responsible team that wants to understand our philosophy. I have spoken with the players, and I hope they will get to Sunday knowing exactly what to do. There is still time for everything, but there won't be if things are not done well”.
The Catalan coach continued, “There is conviction in the players in the way they work with the intensity and energy required. We are in the second tier and we have to approach these games with humility. On Sunday we must attack well and defend well, this is how it is simplified. If you do that, you are closer to winning”.
Espanyol come off the back of a difficult run of form in LALIGA Hypermotion, but knowing that three points will put them right back into the mix, will be determined to make it a successful trip to Aragon.
Ramis explained, “Everyone would want us to be in the first division by December, but that is impossible. If we do not do things well, then every game becomes a trapdoor. On Sunday we face an opponent with good players and coach. We will have a competitive match and whoever makes the least mistakes will have the best chance of winning”.
