“We cannot have two versions of ourselves”
Luis Miguel Ramis assesses his first defeat in charge at Real Oviedo on Friday
Luis Miguel Ramis was self-critical in his assessment of Friday night’s defeat to Real Oviedo.
He said, “We cannot have two versions, it just cannot be. This team is capable of much more. This cannot be because it is not going to bring us to a successful conclusion. We have to give our best. We have to understand what the party was asking for today. We have not given two passes in a row. We were hasty”.
RCD Espanyol fell to a first defeat under Ramis, beaten by goals either side of the break at the Estadio Carlos Tartiere. There is a quick turnaround to the next game, when they welcome Real Valladolid to the Stage Front Stadium for the Copa del Rey second round.
Ramis said, “We have to give importance to everything because if not, the opponent surpasses you, whatever your name is. We leave angry, but looking forward to working tomorrow. There is no respite. We have to correct things to move away from those two versions. We have to take seven or eight steps forward.
“This team has the capacity to take those steps forward continuously and not give these opportunities away. We have to know how to recognise these situations as soon as possible. I am the most responsible. We are going to insist that this is a missed opportunity”.
He concluded, “These are three points that Oviedo deservedly take and if we want to take steps forward we have to be much better. We have the capacity, but if we don't put everything in we will have difficulties. My obligation is to try to change that behaviour”.
