“We are getting closer to what we want to see”
Luis Miguel Ramis recognises the challenge faced by the trip to Eldense on Sunday
Following last weekend’s victory, Luis Miguel Ramis is keen to maintain the momentum going to Eldense on Sunday.
RCD Espanyol sit a point off the top two promotion spots and are eager to make it consecutive wins when they travel to the Estadio Municipal Nuevo Pepico Amat this weekend, searching for a first away win in LALIGA Hypermotion since October.
Ramis said, “I would like to be 10 points better off, but we are nonetheless getting closer to what we want to see. This small difference in points should keep us alert, because if we sleep for a few seconds, another team will capitalise; we cannot fail. I have always seen this team with the responsibility set by the Club and the fans, our perceptions are good and I believe that we are going to get it done”.
In the reverse fixture back in September, Espanyol came from behind with a last-minute equaliser to get a 3-3 draw against Eldense, who sit 15th in the second division.
The Catalan coach said of this weekend’s opponents, “They are a very intense team, so we must be focused all game. They solve the game in 10 minutes and keep their opponent going all game. We have to be alert with all five senses. They are a team that really punishes you if you let them reach your area, so we are going to have to be focused and able to resolve the situations we face.
“We want to see ourselves higher up, consolidate our work, get more points and be closer to what we want to see. This is how we work day by day and game by game”.
