“We are ambitious”
Javi Fuego insists that the club is doing things right and that is in the right track to become a great club
There are only two matches left before the league finishes and Javi Fuego assessed a positive balance of Espanyol’s performance so far. “The team has shown that we are ambitious and that is growing. This is the idea we want to adhere. And that is why we will try to win the next two matches. We are near the eighth place and we are going to try to achieve it. We can’t change our season’s philosophy”.
“The club is doing things well and is giving the steps to become a great club. We are ambitious as the club. When you do a good season you always have to try to improve it. I don’t know what goal we will have next season, but we will have to aspire to constant improvement”.
He says he has found himself "very comfortable in Espanyol" and that he has been "lucky to have captains" that reflect very well what the club is. "The team has competed very well all year round and we have had very good spells during the season. Hopefully we can reach the eighth place".
He does not hide his wish by continuing to improve and argues that "seeing the growth of the team during the season leads us to keep the idea of continuing to grow. We have two games left and we want to get as many points as possible. That ambition is the basis for the project to continue growing".
