“These are games of fine details”
Luis Miguel Ramis knows that his team must go out strong from the first whistle against Real Oviedo
Following back-to-back home games and wins, Luis Miguel Ramis is relishing another away trip as his side go to Real Oviedo on Friday.
RCD Espanyol travel to Asturias sitting a single point off the automatic promotion spots, as they look to fight their way back into the top two on matchday 18. The men’s first team coach spoke in his press conference on Wednesday, ahead of the trip to northern Spain on Thursday.
Ramis said, “We have to maintain the right attitude knowing that teams are going to be stronger at their ground. Real Oviedo is a difficult ground to go to with extra motivation for their players. We want to see a team that reflects there what we have seen at home. These are games of fine details”.
In his first match as head coach, Ramis earned a point away to SD Huesca a few weeks ago, but is now vying for a first win on the road in charge of the white-and-blue side.
He continued on Oviedo, “they have variety and individual quality. I expect a very competitive match, knowing that we must do many things well to move forward. Our response has to be complete, showing a team that is clear in intention. At a ground like Oviedo’s, if you fall asleep in the first two minutes it can cost you the entire game.
“We must be on it from the get-go. We are clear about what we need to do this week with the little time we have to prepare. We will aim to be strong and neutralise the opponent”.
This is the first of three games in a week, with a Copa del Rey clash with Real Valladolid next Tuesday before Real Zaragoza visit the Stage Front Stadium in LALIGA Hypermotion three days later. An intense schedule, but Ramis assured, “I am only focusing on the upcoming match, I am not thinking about Tuesday nor next Friday”.
