“The win was important”
Luis Miguel Ramis explains that the team can look ahead thanks to victory against Levante UD
Luis Miguel Ramis has praised the team for their spirit in the 2-1 win over Levante UD on Sunday.
He said, “I am very happy for the win and for the players. We needed the luck to fall on our side, but this doesn't happen by chance. Levante perhaps deserved to take the three points, but in such an open game against a league rival, we suffered a lot. We needed the points and in the end it fell on our side due to our persistence”.
RCD Espanyol took the three points thanks to a 99th minute penalty scored by Martin Braithwaite, getting his second of the evening and securing a vital victory for the Mágico. It takes them up to fourth in LALIGA Hypermotion, sitting just a point off the top two that will earn automatic promotion to the first tier.
Ramis continued, “We believe a lot and those things sometimes appear. The fans are dissatisfied with many things and leave with their team winning, it is a positive thing. Players need trust and affection, and although any of us are not at our best, but my mission is to look ahead and seek the goal in a straight line.
“Victory does not come decorated. The result boost is very important for the squad and will allow us to look forward. People want their team not to lose and we take three points that give us confidence”.
The men’s first team coach concluded, “We live in a world of emotions and people express themselves. If we dedicate ourselves to this, it is like that. We have to respond. That doesn't make me work less, it doesn't make it an ordeal for me to come to the stadium. I accept it with sportsmanship, naturalness and professionalism. I’m not enjoying the current moment, of course, but I want to change it”.
