“Our objective has not changed”
Javi Puado insists that the team remains focused on promotion amidst managerial change
Javi Puado is clear that the season is in its final strait and every match is vital, speaking ahead of Sunday’s clash with Real Zaragoza.
Puado said, “The coach has changed, but our objective has not changed: it is clear and we have to achieve it. This is a competition that, if you don't push to the limit, it is very difficult to get points. But we are Espanyol and, as the coach has said, every game you wear this shirt you have to give your all to get the three points and to make sure that, at the end of the year, we are all happy”.
The forward returns to Zaragoza, where he spent the 2019/20 season on loan to gain experience in his only year not at Espanyol. Manolo González’s men go to La Romareda looking to close the gap to the top, as the coach takes charge of his first game in a must-win encounter.
Puado continued, “We have had several opportunities to get into the automatic promotion places, but we have not taken advantage of them. I think this is a good day to win, to get three points and gain confidence. We are Espanyol we are always going to go out for victory, and this weekend will be no different”.
