“Our idea is to compete and score”
QSF said that the team has to be intelligent to try to win
Espanyol plays this Thursday against Levante the second match of the last sixteen in the Cup. The white and blue team has to win at least 0-2 to qualify. “The first idea is to compete and score first because that is the way to have options to go through. I see the team positive, but we lost the first match- It will be a difficult tie and we have to play until the end”, said Quique Sánchez Flores.
“In case we receive a goal we have the example of last week; it is not definitive. We will try to score before them. We have to be smart. Levante has more difficulties at home, they have had more problems and we will try to do a good match. If we complete a positive match and the players are comfortable we will have our options. We have good players, players that can score”, he said.
Sánchez Flores said that the team is not how they would like. “We want to be better. We can start a good spel of results and fight with other eight teams to be at the top. We have a lot of reasons to be optimistic. We want more, but as a team we have to try to be like last year”, he said.
Therefore Quique Sánchez Flores said that the victory against Málaga is good for the team. WE didn’t play at our best, but we were very serious. We have to think in our next fixture and we are not going to give up. We are playing against a team that competes and the will be very difficult for us”.
Finally, Sánchez Flores hasn’t said anything about Ramon Robert. “I don’t want to give my opinion about the changes. I phoned him because he was the person who came to London to try to involve me in this project. I wish him the best”, he said.
