“No one will give us anything for free”
Luis Miguel Ramis approaches Sunday's match against AD Alcorcón with humility and excitement
Luis Miguel Ramis spoke to the media ahead of RCD Espanyol’s meeting with AD Alcorcón on Sunday.
The Mágico are fourth going into this weekend and aiming to break into the automatic promotion spots, while visitors Alcorcón are at the other end of the table fighting relegation.
Ramis said, “We are not here to waste opportunities, these are three very important points at stake and that will be the case for the entire season. We have worked well all week, we are grounded must earn it ourselves because no one will give us anything for free. The day by day process is important to be able to see development”.
The coach continued, “We are getting closer to what we want, but we have to continue improving because the team needs to consolidate all that. For example, so that there are no doubts on the field and that to win any game, we are going to have to make an effort”.
Espanyol are set for a second straight matchday at the Stage Front Stadium after last week’s win over Elche, as they look to continue rising up the table towards promotion. Five rounds remain before the winter break, which Ramis’ side will look to go into sitting in a solid position and ready for the second half of the season.
He concluded, “We are going to have to work very hard. Alcorcón are decent away from home, so we must be attentive and humble in our approach. Obviously there are three important points at take - un football you never get six at a time. What excites us most is getting the three points”.
