“Matches are decided by small details”
Luis García knows Friday's clash with SD Eibar could come down to the finest margins
After midweek victory in the Copa del Rey, Luis García and his side return their attention to LALIGA for the visit of SD Eibar on Friday.
The third match in the space of six days sees RCD Espanyol return to the Stage Front Stadium, where they take on a direct promotion rival sitting two spots ahead.
García said, “the team has worked well all week and we hope we can return to the path of getting three points. We have a very clear game plan, but at the same time, there are things to improve. We want to take a step forward in terms of progression in both areas of the pitch. We have to continue to grow and improve in every facet of the game”.
Espanyol and Eibar are separated by just two points and two positions in the LALIGA Hypermotion table, in what will be an evenly fought affair at the Stage Front Stadium. The gaffer is clear that, if they want to achieve promotion back to the top flight, it is vital to consistently collect points throughout the campaign.
The coach explained, “Last year teams were promoted with 12 or 13 draws. It is important to find the consistency of getting points week after week. The team is just as strong as me, and we are looking forward to playing a great game. We are very excited, my players give me strength because of their attitude. Everything is tremendously even in the table, matches are decided by small details. It is the reality”.
Speaking on opponents Eibar, García said, “They are a very good team. They started erratically with several consecutive losses before their current streak of results. It will be a match where both teams want the ball, and we have the enthusiasm and the desire to do well”.
