“Celta and Villarreal play different”
Quique Sánchez Flores said that the team has confidence after two good results
After the good point obtained against Celta, Espanyol is ready to face another important match against Villarreal. Quique Sánchez Flores said that Celta and Villarreal have different styles.
“Celta and Villarreal are different. They are doing well but they have different styles. Villarreal is ready to play Champions League. Celta likes to have the ball, enlarge the field… Villarreal is a tidy team, plays long attacks. We are going to play a very different match”, he said.
“We drew against Celta and defeated Osasusa. I think it is great to be ambitious but our analysis goes further on. We have won 4 of the six points this week but we have to improve in some things. Therefore, the players are confident after these good results”.
Quique also explained that he wants to recover the defensive strength. “We are trying to do better and we want to receive fewer goals to be stronger. Offensively we are much better. Teams that want to be collectively good need this kind of strikers. The blocks are blocks: they all defend, they all attack… I let people dream. It is better to think big than small, but let us be cautious because we are talking about Europe as an obligation. We have the obligation to consolidate the team”.
The manager has also pointed out that the team is with a lot of confidence after the last two results. “The players are strong. It is a week of nine points and of the six we have played we have won four. We are playing a good team and now we have to recover energy. We will probably do some changes in our line-up because we have had to travel a lot in these three days”.
Quique Sánchez Flores said that it is really difficult to leave players out of the 18. “All the players train great. We got it right with the players as professionals and as individuals. For me it is very sad to leave players out of the call. We have to think in a line up and in the players we leave on the bench. We must do a balanced team”.
