“A very positive evaluation”
Vicente Moreno pointed out that the team knew how to stick it out to take the three points
RCD Espanyol manager, Vicente Moreno, gave a “very positive” evaluation of the victory against CD Leganés. “We are really satisfied because it was a very difficult match today: it was a quality rival who wasn’t going to make it easy for us, and part of their chances to make direct promotion were at stake. It was a tough game, and we didn’t have the best of matches. Sometimes you don’t know if a really early goal unsettles your rival or yourself. We had the penalty incident to keep us cool. The match was about sticking it out for us, even though we had chances to keep us even cooler. We’re really satisfied,” stated the white and blue manager, Vicente Moreno.
Vicente emphasised that “winning five consecutive matches in this stretch of the season is complicated when all teams are not being successful” and added that “we have one matchday less, but with a greater advantage, and although it’s not definitive, it’s still important. We’ve just played an important match and now we’re going into a week that is just as important, if not more.”
