"We're winning, but it's not easy"
Vicente Moreno admits that his team had to suffer to get the three points
Espanyol claimed victory against CD Lugo. The Blue and White's coach, Vicente Moreno, pointed out that although his team is managing to win regularly this season, it's by no means an easy ride. “We enjoy winning, over and above how we get there. Because we're winning regularly, it may look like it's easy, but it's actually pretty difficult. We needed a lot of strength, both physical and mental, to win this game. We knew that they were going to make things hard for us, because they came with a string of good results. They made us work hard, but we persevered and came out on top, despite the difficulties we faced”, he summarized.
Vicente acknowledged that the team were really suffering in the final minutes. “We struggled, but our defending wasn't bad. It's hard because they ended up with 8-9 players over 1.85 and it's difficult to defend that. We should have been a bit more relaxed when we had possession and passed the ball around a little more. I'm happy, it's not easy at all, but we were competitive”.
