A Club delegation went to visit Miguel Guardia, a player from the RCDE Academy in Granada who suffered a cardiac arrest
On 27th January, Miguel Guardia, a player from RCD Espanyol's Granada Academy, suffered a cardiac arrest while playing football.
The terrible news shocked the entire Espanyol family, who devoted themselves to the young player's family and pushed for Miguel to overcome that terrible situation. Fortunately, this story had a happy ending and Miguel recovered.
This month, a Club delegation led by Sports Institutional Relations representative, Joan Capdevila, and Academy Director of the Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque, Eloy Pérez, and other Club employees travelled to Granada to accompany the player and his family in the tribute to Miguel.
Capdevila, Eloy and the rest of the delegation spent time with the player and his family, giving him some gifts and watching Miguel take the ceremonial kick-off ahead of his team’s fixture against Marbella.
Miguel represents the essence pericos: a boy who does not give up, who fights until the end and who, luckily, will be able to continue enjoying his sport.
