"The fans gave us the strength to win the game"
Vicente Moreno says that the Espanyol family deserves to be at the top of the table.
RCD Espanyol coach Vicente Moreno was delighted. The coach was clearly overjoyed at the victory against UD Almería and at being top of the league. "Today there are many reasons to be happy and cheerful," said Vicente Moreno. “These three points are worth the same, even though we won them against a rival who was in the same situation as us. Winning was important and being top of the league is wonderful for so many people who really deserve it after the year we've had. We are happy for them,” he remarked.
Vicente Moreno wanted to show his gratitude to the fans, “I want to thank the fans who accompanied us to the stadium, sharing their enthusiasm and excitement. The fans gave us that extra push to come out victorious today."
Talking about the RDT goal, Moreno said he was happy for him: “He is someone who has 100% commitment to the team, to the club and to his day-to-day training: you can see it in his performances. It was an amazing goal and only players like him are capable of scoring that kind of goal."
The coach pointed out that “we prefer being at the top, because that means that we have promotion in our sights. The most important thing now is that the team carries on competing strongly, decisively and adapts to the different game situations they're faced with.
