Rufete assesses the defeat against Eibar
RCD Espanyol coach, Francisco Joaquín Pérez Rufete, explained after losing to Eibar that “when you try and things don't work out, in the situation we are in, everything multiplies by two. You have to reverse the situation in both games.”
Rufete commented that “you have to try to do things in the best way. This situation is not easy, but when you take it on you have to be strong and convince the locker room to work, run and honour this shirt for the two remaining games.” The Espanyol coach declared that "between now and the end of the season there will be other players coming on and, above all, people from home so that they can gain experience."
Lastly, the Espanyol coach remarked that “I am here standing up for the players, the club, I am doing my best. I am dedicating as much time as I can, I accept my responsibility, it is not easy, we have a week left to finish in the best situation possible. People might like me more, or not. Of that there is no doubt. But I will always stand up for my club, no matter what happens. People might like me more or less, but I will always be there for my club.”
