RCD Espanyol stand in solidarity with Turkey and Syria
The Club has donated children clothing among other resources following the devastating earthquake
The world is watching in anguish the heartbreaking situation in Turkey and Syria, following the devastating earthquake that hit the two countries last Monday. Authorities have confirmed 17,500 dead and more than 60,000 injured. The images are terrifying, and it could still be worse.
The Consulate of Turkey in Barcelona has appealed for food, clothes and essential resources, setting up a collection point in Sant Adrià de Besòs. RCD Espanyol has responded quickly to the call and mobilised to gather its contribution. On Thursday the Club delivered resources, primarily consisting of children clothing.
Mao Ye, the CEO of the Club, headed the Club’s representation that delivered the material to Selen Evcit, the general consul of Turkey. Mao said, “We want to give our full support to the Turkish and Syrian peoples. We want to help raise awareness about the situation they are experiencing and we offer resources to support them”.
