RCD Espanyol celebrates 122nd anniversary
The Club celebrates 122 years since its foundation
28th October. A day of happiness, pride and vindication. RCD Espanyol celebrated its 122nd anniversary with two simple acts, but in which there was plenty of emotion and respect for our history.
122 years of perico feeling, of struggle, effort and sacrifice, of emotions, joys and sorrows, of love for some colours, the white-and-blue, of which we must feel proud. RCD Espanyol is a century-old institution that looks forward to the present with enthusiasm and the desire to continue growing.
The day began with a visit to the grave of the founder of RCD Espanyol, Ángel Rodríguez, a tradition introduced a few years ago with the aim of dignifying the figure of our founder. A delegation from the Club formed, among others, by the Club CEO, Mao Ye, the president of the Foundation, Antoni Fernández Teixidó, and the grandson of the founder of the Club, José Miguel de Nadal Rodríguez.
A few minutes later, the main representatives of the club gathered at the fans’ statue outside the RCDE Stadium. Once again, Mao Ye and Antoni Fernández Teixidó, accompanied by the sports institutional relations representative, Joan Capdevila, the players Adrià Pedrosa, Rubén Sánchez, Luca Koleosho and Gori and representatives of the different levels of the club (FCPE, ambassadors) joined together to celebrate the 122 years of history of RCD Espanyol.
Visca l’Espanyol! Long live Espanyol!
